Once upon a time, in a land far far away from Taiwan, a new chapter of my life has just begun; "College".
Just few days before I registered myself into the mass communication, I was studying in American Degree Program majoring in E&E engineering.
I decided to change my course because I found out that just in case I change my mind and decide not to go to the US, there are very limited Universities where I can transfer my credits to and also the credits cannot be fully transferred. On the very day I found out about this predicament my heart stopped for a moment.
It felt as if my whole world was coming to an end because in the four stages of culture shock, I was already in the Enthusiasm stage where I enjoy being in the culture and is already functioning well in it. I had the thought of going back to Taiwan to further my studies but it's actually tough for me due to the different education system compared to the English education.
Went to lake side campus after 2 days to find out more about the other possible course I can pursue. When I was there they told me to fill up this online form and later consulted a counselor to enquire the various courses that are provided. I was enlightened by counselor about the courses and everything I needed to know.
Back then, I was more interested in environment engineering, since environment is becoming a big issue for the whole world in 21 century, everyone is now recycling and the countries are trying to be eco-friendly to reduce carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere.
But I know in the future I will not have the patience to do all those kind of re-search for twenty years just to win Nobel prize, so why don't we just choose something which we are really interested in and it will last for a long time......
Therefore in the end I decided to join diploma in mass communication.
I was keen to find out how are advertisements created when I was young, and how entertainment like Music Televisions are created and designed behind the scene.
That's why I decided to join Mass communication!!
During that period of time before I switched course from ADP to diploma in mass communication , I wasn't willing to tell my troubles to my friends and my parent because I thought I could handle them by myself. But I was wrong, I was looking at things at a negative angle and it was killing me.
Fortunately, I discussed every problems and possibilities with my friends and my parent, I have got their support and give me so much encouragement , finally I could overcome those problems. Thank you for backing me up. I really appreciate you guys.
Now in LCS campus, during the first day of class I have met many new friends , everyone treated me like a member of the family, I felt so placid when I see them...now I just hope for the best for the future of studying in mass communication class.
Life’s like a rollercoaster, filled with ups and downs. But no matter what kind of problem is coming towards to you, you would have to solve them in order to be a better person and have a better life. :) good luck everyone!!!
